All welcome at RES Community Pancake Breakfast on Sept. 6
Fun, free event to include rescue demonstrations, children’s activities at Fire Hall 1
It’s almost pancake breakfast time! Regional Emergency Services is pleased to invite the community to this free event featuring lots of fun and interesting activities, and of course – pancakes!
Tours, fire rescue challenge, demonstrations and more!
On Saturday, Sept. 6, from 9 a.m. until noon at Fire Hall 1 (Hawkins Hall, 2 Tolen Drive), all are welcome for the annual pancake breakfast. This traditional community event will have something for everyone – including rescue demonstrations, tours of emergency services equipment, fire trucks, and an interactive fire safety trailer.
Children can enjoy time with Sparky and other local mascots, try their hand at using a fire hose, and even take part in a fire rescue challenge.
Free public parking for the breakfast will be available at Fort McMurray Composite High School and Keyano College parking lots. A free shuttle service from the parking lots to the fire hall will be available. Parking will also be available at Fort McMurray Heritage Village.

The breakfast involves many Regional Emergency Services representatives and partners –from the Fort McMurray Fire Department, RMWB Bylaw Services, the RCMP, Phoenix Heli-Flight/Local HERO Foundation, RES Fire Prevention Branch, FireSmart, Fort McMurray Search and Rescue Society, the Salvation Army, Alberta Agriculture and Forestry, RES Emergency Management, Smitty's Family Restaurant and more.
