Project Details/Background:
The Anzac Recreation Centre parking lot and access road have experienced wear and deterioration over time, resulting in uneven surfaces, poor drainage, and reduced user safety. This rehabilitation project will address these issues through comprehensive site demolition, storm sewer upgrades, and full reconstruction of both the parking lot and access road. Additional improvements will include new concrete work and landscaping to restore the area and enhance the overall appearance and functionality of the facility grounds.
Community Benefit:
These improvements will provide lasting benefits to the Anzac community by ensuring safer, more accessible, and more reliable parking and site access for all visitors to the Recreation Centre. Upgraded drainage and storm sewer systems will help reduce flooding and standing water, protecting the infrastructure long-term. The finished project will support continued community use of this important facility while contributing to a more attractive and welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.
Construction Impacts:
During construction, residents and visitors should expect temporary disruptions, including partial closures of the parking lot, full closure of the main access road, detours, noise, dust, and construction vehicle traffic in the area. Access to certain sections of the Recreation Centre parking lot may be limited at times to allow crews to work safely and efficiently. We ask all users to follow posted signage, use designated alternative routes when required, and allow extra time when visiting the facility. Every effort will be made to minimize inconvenience and maintain safe access throughout the project
