Wildfire season is here – it’s time to be aware and be prepared.

“Part of living in the boreal forest is living with the risk of wildfire,” says Acting Director of Emergency Management Erin Sieger. “When the risk is high, it’s important to be alert and stay informed through trusted sources of information, like Alberta Wildfire, Alberta Emergency Alerts and the Municipality.

Where to find wildfire information

Alberta Wildfire is the key source of information and provides regular updates on wildfires of concern.

  • Highway status - Check 511 Alberta to find up-to-date information on the status of Highway 63, 881 and all highways in the province: 511.alberta.ca
  • Fire bans - For the most up-to-date information on provincial fire advisories and restrictions, download the Alberta Wildfire App or visit albertafirebans.ca.

Be prepared

Being prepared for wildfire season begins ahead of an emergency. To get prepared:

How to report a wildfire

If you see a fire in the forested area, report it. Call 310-FIRE (3473).
