Community comes together for Stuff-A-Bus to help local families this holiday season

RMWB Transit and community partners join Santas Anonymous in 10th annual toy drive

Two RMWB Transit buses full of toys and gifts arrived at Father Patrick Mercredi High School on Friday, Dec. 12, to support Santas Anonymous.

Santa was on board with RMWB Transit staff, Rogers Media (Country 93.3 and Rock 97.9), Buddy the Elf, Rudolf and Father Mercredi students as they spent the day visiting registered businesses, schools and community groups to collect donations.

Once the buses were fully stuffed with toys and donations, students, staff and the Transit team helped unload the gifts, which will be sorted, wrapped and delivered to local families in need.

Thank you to all who gave and participated

“When we think about the spirit of giving and generosity that exists in this community, Santas Anonymous is such a great example of it,” said Mayor Sandy Bowman. “We again thank the Transit team at the Municipality and everyone that played a part in the annual Stuff-A-Bus toy drive, and our deepest gratitude goes out to all those helping families in need during this important time of the year.”

The annual Stuff-A-Bus initiative launched this year on Nov. 26 and saw participation from 30 organizations across Fort McMurray.

Santas Anonymous has a long history of giving

Since 1984, Father Mercredi students have led Santas Anonymous, bringing the community together to collect gifts and help local families celebrate the holiday season.
