Downtown revitalization grants hit $7 million investment milestone

$1.3 million in grant funding remains available through Downtown Revitalization Incentives Program – apply by May 31, 2026

As of December 2025, $7 million in grant funding has been invested in downtown Fort McMurray through the Downtown Revitalization Incentives Program. This marks a significant milestone in ongoing efforts to strengthen the downtown core.

Since the program launched in 2020, more than 200 downtown projects have received funding. Currently, 58 projects are in progress, with several additional projects under conditional approval.

Now in its third phase, the Downtown Revitalization Incentives Program helps businesses and organizations upgrade their building exteriors, interiors, and other features to help revitalize the downtown area.

Phase 3 of the Downtown Revitalization Incentives Program ends May 31, 2026, or earlier if available funding is fully allocated. With $1.3 million in grant funding currently available, this is the perfect time for downtown property owners and businesses to apply.

The program offers four grant streams to help downtown businesses, commercial property owners, and community organizations improve their buildings and the surrounding area.
