Flood Mitigation – Reach 6 Construction
Begins in December
Introduction:
Flood Mitigation - Reach 6 consists of the construction of an earth berm from Riedel Street to Longboat Landing along Clearwater Drive and underground storm sewer improvements at Alberta Drive and Marshall Street.
Clearing activities will begin in December to remove trees and brush within the construction limits in preparation for construction of Contract 1, an earthen clay berm to the 1:200-year flood elevation of 250.9 m in 2026.

Sidewalk closure
The Clearwater River trail will be closed from the Riedel Street to Franklin Ave along Clearwater Drive from Dec 2025 to Oct 2027. Closure signs will be placed at access points along the trail. Residents are asked to use sidewalks along Franklin Ave, Manning Ave and Fraser Ave to detour around construction to gain access to adjacent Streets.

Please obey all posted signage when travelling through construction zones. Further updates will be provided in the new year.
