Fort Chipewyan – Six Bay Garage & Animal Control

Introduction:

In 2025, the design was completed for the building user requirements to complete the Six Bay Garage & Animal Control facility located near the Fort Chipewyan Regional Airport. The work includes both interior, building shell and services. Public Works and Environmental Services will be using five bays for warehouse and storage. Animal Control will be using one bay for overnight holding and a work centre for local community services. The construction includes all work for the full use and occupancy of the building.

There is minimum work to the site area around the building, with most construction activities occurring within the pre-existing building shell. The Phase 1 building shell and foundation was completed several years ago, and Phase 2 is set to proceed in April of 2026.
