Fort McMurray firefighters respond to garage fire in Thickwood neighbourhood

A fire significantly damaged a detached garage in Thickwood on March 16.

Fort McMurray fire crews were dispatched to a Simcoe Way property shortly after 5 p.m. and arrived minutes later to find an active fire in the garage. Firefighters were able to stop further spread of the fire and quickly brought it under control.

The fire caused serious damage to the garage and contents. There were no injuries reported.

Regional Emergency Services fire investigators responded to the scene and are working to determine a cause.
