Fort McMurray firefighters respond to mobile home fire on Cree Road

Resident safely escaped, was woken by smoke alarm

Fort McMurray firefighters were dispatched to Cree Road shortly before midnight, May 27 after a 911 caller reported the back side of a mobile home on fire.  

Fire crews arrived to find an active fire that had spread into the attic of a mobile home. An occupant of the home had already escaped after being woken up by a smoke alarm.

Firefighters conducted an offensive attack and continued to fight the stubborn blaze for more than an hour and a half.

There were no reported injuries, but the mobile home was extensively damaged.

Fire crews were on the scene until 2:30 a.m. Regional Emergency Services Fire investigators are investigating the cause.
