Have your say on local EMS
From the scene of the accident to hospital arrival – share your experience
Regional Emergency Services (RES) is launching a public engagement to gather feedback on local Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and ambulance services. Between Sept.23 and Nov.17 residents are encouraged to share their experience from the first momentsan ambulance arrives on scene at an emergency, the transport to hospital in the ambulance, and the transfer into the hospital.
“The perspectives of the people who use our EMS services are central to understanding the EMS experience--every moment and interaction matters,” said Rob Van Hecke, Acting Regional Fire Chief. “Your feedback helps us understand how we may be able to improve the service our teams deliver with urgency, respect and care.”
About EMS in our region
In Alberta, EMS is contracted with Alberta Health Services (AHS). Locally, RES works closely with AHS to ensure ambulance services meet the needs of residents. While EMS services are available throughout much of the region, residents of Fort Chipewyan receive this service through NuneeHealth.
Last year, RES responded to 7,263 EMS calls across the region. In addition to emergency response, local paramedics also provide interfacility transfers and support for community events.
