Northside Twin Arena Project Update

Construction of the Northside Twin Arena

The Northside Twin Arena project involves the construction of a state-of-the-art 6,420 square meter twin ice surface arena, designed to host a variety of sports including hockey, figure skating, lacrosse, ringette and ball hockey.

Significant progress has been made at the construction site. The essential utilities including the water, sanitary and storm services have been successfully installed. Additionally, all piles and grade beams necessary for the structure have been poured. The erection of the pre-engineered building is well underway, with approximately 50% of the work completed.

Looking ahead, the next steps are focused on completing the assembly of the pre-engineered building. Once that phase is finished, the roof and walls will be installed, enclosing the structure. The site will then undergo excavation to reach the designed subgrade level. After these foundational elements are in place, interior work will begin, including plumbing, electrical installations, and the construction of concrete rink surfaces.

The project team is working efficiently with an expected substantial completion date anticipated for Fall 2026. At that point, the arena will be ready to host a variety of sports and events, contributing to the community’s recreational and sporting needs.
