Road Surface and Alleyways Improvement Beaton Place

Introduction:

The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is preparing to complete sidewalk and curb reconstruction work on Beaton Place. The scope of work includes replacing sections of monolithic sidewalk, curb and gutter, restoring private driveways/walkways, and completing localized surface repairs and pavement markings as required. The work will be completed in phases to minimize impacts to residents.

Project Details:

This project will improve pedestrian infrastructure on Beaton Place by replacing sidewalks and curbs and gutters. Driveways impacted by the work will be restored and landscaping will be refreshed where necessary.

Work will be carried out in phases to minimize disruptions for residents. All dates and timelines are approximate and may be adjusted as the work progresses.

Access to the work area may be required throughout the project.

E. Construction will adhere to applicable noise and disturbance bylaws. Timelines are subject to change depending on weather, equipment availability, and other unforeseen factors.

Community Benefit:

As each phase of construction is completed, the affected portions of Beaton Place will be restored with new sidewalks and upgraded curbs and gutters. These improvements will provide safer, more accessible pedestrian routes and refreshed landscaping in the project area. Upon completion, the community will benefit from enhanced walkability and improved streetscape, demonstrating the Municipality’s commitment to maintaining safe and welcoming neighborhood infrastructure.

Special Instructions for Residents:

The concrete work for the sidewalks and curbs and gutters will take seven days to cure. During this period, residents are asked to avoid walking on the new concrete, and they will not have access to their parking.

Residents located within the active construction phase are encouraged to park on adjacent streets, while ensuring compliance with all applicable bylaws.

Pedestrian access within construction zones may be limited. Residents may see traffic delays to complete certain aspects of the work. The sections under construction will be flagged during the regular work hours, when needed; however, the roads are to remain open to traffic.

Signage will be in place for each phase of construction.

Emergency access will be maintained at all times in the event of an emergency.
