Santa Claus Parade returns to the region Dec. 6

The Santa Claus Parade and Council’s Starry Night return to Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo on Saturday, Dec. 6. Help spread the holiday spirit by joining the parade or volunteering!  

Register a float or walking group 

Local businesses, organizations, groups and teams are encouraged to join the parade by registering a float or walking group. The deadline to register is Nov. 19, 2025.

Fundraise and volunteer 

Help make the Santa Claus Parade a success! Fundraising opportunities are available for non-profit organizations and groups of 10 to 20 people. Roles include Barricade Monitors, Sidewalk Safety Elves and the Toyshop Team.

In addition to fundraising, volunteers are also needed to support.

A night of community, lights and celebration 

Join Mayor and Councillors to light the community tree and tipi at kiyām Community Park before enjoying the parade along Franklin Ave. 

Council’s Starry Night: 

• Date: Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025 

• Time: 5 p.m. 

• Location: kiyām Community Park 

Santa Claus Parade: 

• Date: Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025 

• Time: 6 p.m. 

• Location: Franklin Ave. (Main St. to Reidel St.) (Sensory-friendly zone – Main St. to Franklin Ave.) 

The parade will begin on Main St., the designated sensory-friendly block, lights and sounds will start at the intersection of Main St. and Franklin Ave., then continue south on Franklin Ave. ending at Riedel St.
