Saunderson Pressure Reducing Station-October construction activities
Introduction/Area Impacted
The Municipality is preparing to complete road rehabilitations and upgrades in your neighbourhood. You’ll see crews and construction activity beginning as early as Oct 10th, 2025. To accommodate this construction activity Morrison Street will be closed in two phases as outlined below.

Project Details/Background:
Construction will involve the rehabilitation of the existing road surface which will require the removal of existing asphalt road. The new road will then be constructed with spot repairs for concrete, new road structure and new asphalt.
Community Benefit:
As the various phases of construction are completed, roads will be restored and improved. At the completion of the project, impacted downtown streets will see a substantial improvement. Once complete, underground infrastructure will improve the water supply to the downtown, as well as all areas in the south of the Urban Service Area.

Driveway interruption
Earls Restaurant and Servus Credit Union driveway on Morrison Street will be closed. Access to Earls and the Servus Credit Union will be available from MacDonald Avenue.
Road or lane closure
Phase 1 - Morrison Street will be closed from Highway 63 to MacDonald Avenue.
Phase 2 – The closure will be extended to incorporate the intersection of Morrison Street and MacDonald Avenue. Access to businesses on MacDonald Avenue will be available from Franklin Avenue and Richard Street.
Sidewalk closure
There will be intermittent sidewalk closures on the east side of Morrison Street between Biggs Avenue and MacDonald Avenue.
Transit
The On-Demand service at transit stop 10004 located on Morrison Street will not be in service during the Phase 2 closure of Morrison Street.
Special Instructions for Residents:
Pedestrian and motorist access in the area will be restricted through the various stages of construction. Any restrictions will be planned to minimize access interruptions for residents and businesses in the project area.
Signage will be staged for each phase of construction. Roads will be closed as required, and detour signs will be in place to minimize delays.
Access will be maintained at all times in the event of an emergency. Access to all businesses in the project area will be maintained to ensure business continuity.
For your safety, and the safety construction crews, please keep away from heavy equipment, and obey all signage.
