SDAB 2025-008 Appeal Against the Approval of a Development Permit for a Change of Use - Group Home

TAKE NOTICE, that the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board for the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo has received an appeal against a Development Officer’s decision to APPROVE Development Permit No. 2025-DP-00321, an application for a Change of Use for a Group Home, at the property known as Lot 19, Block 42, Plan 762 0092, being 105 Highfield Street, Fort McMurray, Alberta.

In accordance with Section 686 of the Municipal Government Act, R. S. A 2000, c. M-26, an Appeal Hearing must be held by the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board upon receipt of an Appeal.  The appeal hearing is set as follows:

            Date:               Monday, January 26, 2026

            Time:              Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

                                    Hearing commences at 6:00 p.m.

Location:        Council Chamber

     Jubilee Centre

     9909 Franklin Avenue

     Fort McMurray, AB

In accordance with section 629 of the Municipal Government Act, the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board may, while carrying out its powers, duties and responsibilities, accept any oral or written evidence. Affected parties and adjacent property owners wishing to register to attend the hearing, make an oral presentation, or wishing to submit evidence, must submit their request to sdab@rmwb.ca on or before 12:00 p.m. (noon), Monday, January 19, 2026.  It is at the discretion of the Board to accept any evidence filed beyond this date.

It is the responsibility of the parties to ensure that the evidence has been received.  Affected parties/adjacent property owners will be given five (5) minutes of time to present their evidence.
