SDAB 2025-008 Notification of Preliminary Hearing

TAKE NOTICE, that the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board has received an appeal filed against a Development Officer’s decision to APPROVE Development Permit No. 2025-DP-00321, an application for a Change of Use for a Group Home, at the property known as Lot 19, Block 42, Plan 762 0092, being 105 Highfield Street, Fort McMurray, Alberta.

In accordance with the requirements under section 686(2) of the Municipal Government Act, The Subdivision and Development Appeal Board (the Board) must hold an appeal hearing within 30 days after receipt of a Notice of Appeal.  The Notice of Appeal in this matter was received on November 12, 2025. 

To ensure the Board retains jurisdiction over the appeal, a preliminary hearing has been scheduled to request the Board to open the hearing and adjourn the matter to a date to be determined by the Board.

The preliminary hearing has been scheduled as follows:

Date:      Thursday, December 4, 2025

Time:      Hearing commences at 6:00 p.m.

Format:  Virtually via Microsoft Teams

The virtual participation link and instructions will be provided to the parties via email on the day of the hearing. 

Anyone wishing to attend the December 4, 2025, preliminary hearing, must contact the Clerk of the Board by 12:00 p.m. noon on December 3, 2025, to register as a participant.
