SDAB 2026-001 – Merit Hearing – Appeal Against the Refusal of a Development Permit Application for a Group Home

TAKE NOTICE, that the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board for the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo has received an appeal against the refusal of Development Permit No. 2025-DP-00357, an application for a Change of Use for a Group Home (7-bedroom Sober Home Transitional Housing), at the property known as Lot 26, Block 49, Plan 7720073, being 181 Woodland Drive, Fort McMurray, Alberta.
In accordance with Section 686 of the Municipal Government Act, R. S. A 2000, c. M-26, an Appeal Hearing must be held by the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board upon receipt of an Appeal.

In accordance with Section 629 of the Municipal Government Act, the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board (SDAB) may, in exercising its powers, duties, and responsibilities, accept any oral or written evidence. Affected parties and adjacent property owners wishing to register to attend the hearing, make an oral presentation, or submit evidence, must send their request to sdab@rmwb.ca on or before 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Acceptance of any evidence submitted after this deadline is at the discretion of the Board. All evidence may be provided via email to sdab@rmwb.ca and it is the responsibility of the parties to ensure their submissions have been received. Affected parties and adjacent property owners will be allotted five (5) minutes to present their evidence during the hearing.
