(Fort McMurray, AB – Jan 13, 2026) – Whether you are an off-highway vehicle (OHV) user or not, we want to hear about your experience with the Abasand OHV Pilot Project and thoughts on next steps. Your feedback will help inform whether the pilot should be adjusted, ended, or made permanent.

Two-year check-in and next steps
The two-year check-in is the final public engagement opportunity before Council considers next steps for the Abasand OHV Pilot Project. Your feedback, alongside data and key performance metrics, will be used to assess whether the pilot has been successful in meeting its goals, including improving the OHV user experience, increasing neighbourhood trail safety, and reducing damage to greenspaces in Abasand.
It’s anticipated that an update on the pilot project will be presented to Council to determine next steps at a public meeting in the second quarter of 2026. Further updates will be provided once available. To learn more about Council meetings, visit rmwb.ca/council.
