Structure fire - Lakeshore Road - Fort McMurray 468 First Nation

Just before 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, Regional Emergency Services (RES) firefighters from Anzac and Fort McMurray responded to a 911 call and arrived on scene to a fully involved house fire on Lakeshore Road, Gregoire Lake – Fort McMurray 468 First Nation.

Anzac responded with a pumper and a tanker and Fort McMurray Fire Department supported with a pumper and tanker.

Firefighters conducted a defensive attack and were able to bring the fire under control within a half hour, but completely extinguishing the stubborn blaze took most of the day. After 2 p.m., an excavator was used to open sections of the home to reach still burning hot spots.

Firefighters remained on the scene until after 3:30 p.m.

There were no serious injuries reported.
