Thickwood Boulevard watermain crossing-temporary closures
Introduction:
As part of the Silin Forest Road Deep Utilities Upgrades, the water main across Thickwood Blvd is being replaced. A single lane on the north side of Thickwood Blvd will be closed starting as early as June 16th and will remain closed until July 9, 2025.
Thickwood Blvd from Silin Forest Road to Signal Road will be fully closed in both directions starting the evening of Friday, June 27 and opened back up the evening of July 1st. This will be 24 hour construction until the project is complete. Detours will be set up in both directions to guide traffic around the construction during this time.

Project Details:
The Thickwood Perimeter Sewer project is a multi-year, multi-phase project to rehabilitate infrastructure in Thickwood. The purpose of this project is to improve the sanitary and storm system, as well as replace and optimize aging assets.
Community Benefit:
This project includes renewed underground infrastructure (water mains, storm sewers, sanitary sewers), new roads and a widened sidewalk on the north side of Silin Forest Road. This will provide enhanced pedestrian and active transportation connectivity on the trails at Helen Pacholko Park and near the Rotary gazebo.

When Thickwood Blvd is closed, detours will be set up in both directions to guide traffic around the construction area. We ask drivers from Dickinsfield and Wood Buffalo to please use Confederation Way to avoid the construction.
Special Instructions for Residents:
Access to the local businesses will be via Woodland Drive through Bone & Biscuit / Pizza Hut access.
To minimize the impact on residents, work will proceed if the weather permits.
Please obey all posted signage when travelling through construction zones.
