Winter maintenance continuing after Subzone schedule finishes
Watch for temporary no parking signs as crews continue snow removal and clear catch basins
The regular Winter Maintenance Subzone schedule is now done for the season, but winter maintenance will continue with the use of temporary no parking signs. Crews are actively maintaining roadways, clearing back alleys and cul de sacs as winter conditions continue later into the season.
Watch for temporary no parking signs in areas where winter maintenance is scheduled. Signs are placed 24 hours in advance of planned work. After the signs have been removed, you may park on the street again.
Snow removal on priority routes in Thickwood, Wood Buffalo and Timberlea
Crews will continue to remove snow this weekend (April 11-12) from the busier streets in Thickwood, Wood Buffalo and Timberlea not included in the WMZ program (Primary, Secondary or Tertiary Routes). Temporary no-parking signs will be in use.
Spring melt preparations are underway
Crews are already at work to reduce the risk of water pooling and drainage issues. This includes clearing catch basins, roadway culverts, drainage systems and checking infrastructure. Additional crews and equipment are in place to support this work.
Residents can also help reduce impacts to their property:
- Report drainage issues to Pulse if water is not draining properly on your street
- Clear snow and ice from drains and around foundations
- Keep downspouts directed away from foundations
- Remove snow from window wells
- Ensure sump pumps are working properly
