Winter Maintenance Subzones 1 and 2 active April 6-10 for snow removal
Use caution around equipment as overnight crews remove snow from turning lanes, intersections and medians
Subzones 1 and 2 are active from April 6 to April 10 for snow removal with on-street parking restrictions in effect.
If your subzone is active, move vehicles off the street on your designated maintenance day from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Watch for temporary no-parking signs
As spring approaches, additional winter maintenance is happening across all subzones (including Subzones 3 and 4) so crews can clear storm drains and help ensure the middle of streets are accessible.
Watch for temporary no-parking signs, which are being used on WMZ streets when additional maintenance is planned outside of the regular schedule. No parking signs are placed 24 hours in advance of planned maintenance. After the signs have been removed, you may park on the street again.
Snow removal on non-WMZ streets in Abasand, Gregoire and Downtown
Crews will also be removing snow over the long weekend (April 3-5) from the busier streets (Primary, Secondary or Tertiary Routes) in Abasand, Gregoire and Downtown. Temporary no-parking signs will be in use.
Nightwork underway to improve roadway accessibility
Night shift crews are removing snow from turning lanes, intersections and sections of medians to improve visibility and roadway accessibility. Please use caution around equipment and give crews room to work.
Preparing for the spring melt
As crews prepare for the spring melt by clearing snow and ice from streets and catch basins, residents can also help reduce the risk of water pooling and drainage issues.
Small actions can help reduce impacts to your property:
-
Report drainage issues to Pulse if water is not draining properly on your street
-
Clear snow and ice from drains and around foundations
-
Keep downspouts directed away from foundations
-
Remove snow from window wells
-
Ensure sump pumps are working properly
Keep up to date on the status of WMZs
