Additional maintenance happening — Watch for temporary no parking signs
As conditions allow, crews will also be removing snow from WMZ streets in non-active subzones over the weekend and into next week. Watch for temporary no parking signs that will be placed 24 hours in advance of this work and remove vehicles from the street until the signs are taken down.
Snow removal continuing on WMZ streets in Timberlea and Beacon Hill
Crews will conduct snow removal operations in Timberlea and Beacon Hill on Jan. 24-25 and continue in Beacon Hill on Monday, Jan. 26. Watch for temporary no-parking signs placed 24 hours in advance.
Snow removal happening on the busier streets downtown
On Jan.24 and 25, crews will also be removing snow from the busier streets downtown that are not included in the WMZ program (primary, secondary and tertiary streets). Watch for temporary no-parking signs placed 24 hours in advance.
Crews are trying to complete as many roads as possible, and windrows may be left on streets overnight. It is important that vehicles do not park on streets where windrows were left overnight as crews will be returning the following day to remove them.

The thick layers of ice and extremely cold temperatures are challenging and very difficult on equipment. Minor equipment repairs need to be done more frequently and it is taking a bit longer than normal to clean the heavy, thick ice off the streets.
