Winter Maintenance Subzones 1 and 2 active March 23-27 for snow removal
Watch for temporary no parking signs in Subzones 3 & 4 as snow removal continues
Subzones 1 and 2 are active from March 23 to March 27 for snow removal with on-street parking restrictions in effect. When your subzone is active, move vehicles off the street on your designated maintenance day from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Watch for temporary no-parking signs in Subzones 3 and 4
Snow removal in Subzones 3 and 4 will continue over the weekend and next week. Crews are prioritizing clearing the middle of streets to ensure they are accessible and preparing storm drains for the spring thaw.
Watch for temporary no-parking signs that will be placed on the streets in these subzones that are scheduled for snow removal. Temporary no parking signs will not be placed in Subzone 1 and 2 next week as these signs are not used during regularly scheduled WMZ maintenance.
No parking signs are placed 24 hours in advance of planned snow removal. After the signs have been removed, you may park back on the street.
Snow removal on non-WMZ streets in Abasand and Thickwood
Crews will also be removing snow this weekend from the busier streets in Abasand and Thickwood not included in the WMZ program (Primary, Secondary or Tertiary Routes). Temporary no-parking signs will be in use.
Help keep your street accessible
· Remove empty garbage and recycling bins from the street after collection.
· Clear your driveway and sidewalks next to your home within 48 hours of a snowfall.
· Shovel snow onto your yard or greenspace between driveways. Never back onto the street or around fire hydrants.
· Be mindful when parking to not block street access.
· For everyone’s safety, do not climb or play on snowbanks and piles of snow along streets.
