Winter Maintenance Subzones 3 and 4 active Jan. 5-9 for snow removal

When clearing driveways, shovel snow onto your yard or nearby green spaces

(Fort McMurray, AB – January 2, 2026) – Subzones 3 and 4 will be active from Jan. 5-9 for snow removal operations with on-street parking restrictions in effect. Subzones 1 and 2 are expected to activate Jan. 12-16.

Snow removal is different from regular snow clearing, and it takes more time. This work requires crews to load accumulated snow into haul trucks and transport it to a snow disposal site.

When a subzone is active, on-street parking restrictions apply from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the designated maintenance day only. Knowing your subzone and moving vehicles on scheduled maintenance days helps crews work safely and supports efficient snow removal in your neighbourhood.
