Funding will support community organizations, individuals and athletes in the region
On Dec. 8, the Community Investment Program Approval Committee (CIPAC) approved and allocated grants totaling more than $6.95 million for local non-profit organizations, individuals and athletes.
Community Investment Program (CIP) grant funding approved in 2024 budget deliberations
The total CIP grant funding per stream was included and approved in the Community Services operating budget as part of the 2024 budget deliberations.
During budget deliberations, Council also approved a motion to move any unallocated funds into the Community Initiatives reserve for the 2026 Community Investment Program.
CIP grant approvals and allocations
CIPAC reviewed and scored all eligible CIP applications for the Community Capital Grant, Community Impact Grant and Community Sustaining Grant. Following budget approval, on Dec. 8, CIPAC met to allocate grant funding to successful applicants.

$5,745,319 in unallocated funding has been moved to the Community Initiatives Reserve, to be used towards the 2026 CIP Grant Allocations.
Games Legacy grant recipients selected
Administration reviewed and scored all eligible Games Legacy Grant applications, and, following budget approval, selected successful applicants.
The maximum annual funding budget of $15,000 was allocated for this grant.

Each year, non-profit organizations, individuals and athletes can access municipal grants through the Community Investment Program. The program helps social profit organizations deliver programs, projects, services and events. It also supports cultural activities, individual, and team development or competition in regional, national and international sporting events.
