  • Mitchel Bowers
  • Natashia Gushue-Birkett

What is intersectionality?

Intersectionality, a concept coined by scholar Kimberlé Crenshaw, represents how a person’s culture, gender, race, sexuality, age, class, physical ableness and more interconnect and define their unique worldview. Through a range of mediums, ᒣᐢᑲᓇᐊᐧ ᑯᑎᑯᑕᑳᐧᐤ Intersections urges the viewer to move beyond a singular narrative and capture the nuances of intersectionality relating to the 2SLGBTQIA+ experience.
