2028 Alberta Summer Games Host Society Board of Directors Appointed

Council approves board members to lead planning for 2028 Alberta Summer Games

(Fort McMurray, AB – September 2, 2026) – Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) Council has appointed the Board of Directors for the 2028 Alberta Summer Games Host Society, marking a key milestone in the region's preparation to host the Games. 

The newly appointed board will govern the planning, coordination, and delivery of the 2028 Alberta Summer Games, bringing together local expertise across leadership, sport, culture, tourism, safety, and community involvement to ensure a successful event for athletes, volunteers, and residents across the region.

The Alberta Summer Games bring together thousands of young athletes, coaches, and volunteers from across the province to compete and celebrate sport, culture, and community spirit. Hosting the Games offers a significant opportunity to showcase the Wood Buffalo region, boost local tourism, and inspire the next generation of Alberta athletes.
