Beacon Hill Playground Replacement Construction Project
Introduction:
The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is replacing the Beacon Hill playground, during the summer of 2026.
The project includes removing the existing playground, installing new inclusive and accessible playground equipment and surfacing, improving drainage and restoring the playground area after construction.
Construction is expected to start in July 2026 and be completed in August 2026.
Work will take place within the existing playground area.
For everyone's safety, the playground will be closed during construction and will reopen once all work is complete and the site has been inspected.

Project Details:
- Remove the existing playground equipment and surfacing
- Install new inclusive and accessible playground equipment and surfacing
- Improve drainage in the playground area
- Restore the playground and surrounding area after construction
- Complete final inspections before reopening the playground
Community Benefit:
This project will provide inclusive and accessible playground equipment for community members. The project will also improve drainage and the overall condition of the playground area.
The public are encouraged to use the Beacon Hill school and Good Shepherd Community School playgrounds during construction.
