Proposed Start and End Dates:

Lead Department:

Project Details:

The opening of the Snye fills with sediment deposits, primarily composed of non-cohesive silt particles, brought by the current of the Clearwater River. The in-water dredging activities typically take approximately one week to complete. Following the dredging, the excavated silt is stockpiled at Snye Point for approximately two weeks to allow for natural dewatering before transported to a landfill or final disposal.

Community Benefit:

The community will take advantage of access channel for recreational uses. In addition, maintaining open channel can improve water circulation, which may add more dissolved oxygen levels and contribute to healthy aquatic environment.

Construction Impacts:

Parking lot
No access to parking lot at Snye Point for public use

Parking & vehicle access
No access to Snye Point area for public use

Special Instructions for Residents:

There will be limited access to boat launches to the Clearwater River due to the buildup of sediment. Boaters are encouraged to use other boat launches until the dredging is complete.

Residents are advised to exercise caution and take appropriate precautions around the construction zone.
