Enjoy the Show & Shine with Public Works Aug. 25 & 26
Family-friendly event features big equipment, hands-on activities and a sensory-friendly hour.
They sweep, plow, transport, and even patrol for wildlife—but for two days this month, they'll shine!
Everyone is invited to Show & Shine with Public Works, a free, family-friendly event where community members can get an up-close look at the impressive vehicles and equipment that help keep our communities running year-round.
Join us on Tuesday, August 25 and Wednesday, August 26, from 9 a.m. to noon at the North Operations Centre (24 Silin Forest Road) to explore snowplows, street sweepers, transit buses and other hardworking municipal vehicles. In addition to vehicle displays, visitors can enjoy family-friendly activities, including barricade painting, a plant walk with guided signs, and more.

- Dates: August 25 and 26, 2026
- Time: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Location: North Operations Centre, 24 Silin Forest Road
- Sensory-Friendly Hour: Wednesday, August 26, from 9 to 10 a.m. for individuals and families who prefer a quieter, lower-stimulation environment.
Admission is free, and no registration is required.
Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations in support of the Wood Buffalo Food Bank.
