Flood Mitigation – Reach 6 – Construction update
Introduction:
Flood Mitigation - Reach 6 - Contract 1 consists of the construction of an earth berm from Riedel Street to Longboat Landing along Clearwater Drive and underground storm sewer improvements at Alberta Drive and Marshall Street.
Construction on Reach 6 began in early December 2025 for the construction of an earth berm to the 1:200-year flood elevation of 250.9 m. The storm sewer replacement at Alberta Drive is scheduled to begin August 5, 2026, and will take approximately two weeks.
As part of construction, Clearwater Drive at Alberta Drive will be closed from August 8, 2026 to August 12, 2026. Dates may fluctuate due to weather and construction progress.
