Flood Mitigation – Reach 6 Temporary Shipyard Relocation

Introduction:

Flood Mitigation – Reach 6 includes the construction of an earth berm along Clearwater Drive from Riedel Street to Longboat Landing, as well as underground storm sewer improvements at Alberta Drive and Marshall Street. Construction on Reach 6 began in early December 2025. As part of the berm construction, the Heritage Shipyard will be temporarily relocated beginning August 19, 2026, with the relocation expected to take approximately two weeks.

Clearwater Drive between Queen Street and Riedel Street will also be closed from August 19 through September 2026 to accommodate construction activities. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes and allow additional travel time. Construction schedules and road closure dates may change due to weather conditions and construction progress, with updates provided as information becomes available.

Trail is closed for the entire length of Clearwater Drive from Ridel Street to Frankin Ave for the remainder of 2026.
