Help advise Mayor and Council – join a board or committee
The deadline to apply at rmwb.ca/boards has been extended to Nov. 9
The election may be over, but residents have a chance to help their community by advising the new Mayor and Council on a board or committee.
Get involved, gain valuable experience and network with like-minded residents by applying to join a Council-appointed board or committee. There are more than 35 vacancies among nine Municipal boards and committees. Apply for an open position at rmwb.ca/boards, or at your local municipal office.
A chance to grow and make a difference
Joining a board or committee is a great opportunity for professional growth – members work alongside other community leaders on important matters that impact your community. Your skills and experience are needed to help support important projects, initiatives and services across the region.
Meetings can be accessible for rural and Indigenous residents
Distance doesn’t have to be an obstacle – you can attend most board and committee meetings remotely by video call. Rural board and committee members will also be reimbursed mileage expenses for driving to attend meetings in person.

 - Community Standards Appeal Committee
 - Homelessness Initiatives Strategic Committee
 - Subdivision and Development Appeal Board
 - Vehicle for Hire Committee
 - Wood Buffalo Housing and Development Corporation
 - Wood Buffalo Economic Development Corporation
