Feedback being collected to shape a regional 10-year Safety and Social Well-Being Strategy
Residents and community partners are invited to help shape a 10-year Safety and Social Well-Being Strategy by participating in public engagement. The strategy will outline shared goals for the region and communities’ priorities while providing recommendations to improve access to services, build safer communities, and support residents across all ages and stages of life.
“Safety and social well-being are the foundation of a strong community,” said Toni Elliott, Acting Director of Community Services. “This strategy is about planning intentionally for the future, making the most of our shared resources and ensuring the right supports are in place for community members across the region.”
Key areas of focuses on improving access to supports like recreation, youth and senior services, transportation, and community programs that help people feel safe, connected, and supported.
Working together with community partners
The Municipality is inviting local organizations, Indigenous partners, and service providers to help develop the Safety and Social Well-Being Strategy. Through one-on-one conversations and focus groups, these contributors can sharecritical insight into the challenges residents face and how local services can better support the people that call Wood Buffalo home.
