New Anzac playground opens for students, families, and residents
Students and community members gather to celebrate playground ribbon cutting
The Anzac Community School Playground is officially open, providing students, families, and community members with a new place to play, connect, and enjoy the outdoors.
Today, students and teachers from Anzac Community School joined school and division leaders, Mayor and Councillors, municipal staff, and community members to celebrate the project’s completion.
Following the ribbon cutting, students were among the first to officially test out the playground’s features, marking the beginning of a new chapter for this community gathering place.
From community advocacy to community amenity
The idea of a new playground was first introduced by the Anzac School Council. Thanks to their advocacy efforts, funding for the playground replacement was moved forward as part of the municipal capital planning process in 2025.
More than just a playground
The completed project includes a variety of play features designed to encourage active play, exploration, and fun for children of different ages and abilities.
More than a playground, the new amenity reflects an ongoing commitment to investing in communities across the region. It provides a place where children can play, families can spend time together, and neighbours can connect.
