Project Introduction Notice: Wood Buffalo Lift Station Replacement Woodward Lane

The Municipality is replacing the existing Wood Buffalo Lift Station located on Woodward Lane. This project will improve the reliability and resiliency of the wastewater system serving your neighbourhood. 

Construction is expected to begin in August 2026 and will include:

·         sunken caisson excavation

·         installation of new underground utilities

·         construction of a new lift station building and underground structures

·         and associated site works including paving, fencing, landscaping, and site restoration.

To maintain uninterrupted wastewater service during construction, the existing lift station will remain in operation until the new lift station has been fully tested, commissioned and put into service. Temporary bypass pumping may be required during certain stages of construction. Following commissioning of the new facility, the existing lift station will be removed, and the site will be restored.

What residents can expect:

Residents may notice increased construction traffic, noise, and equipment activity in the vicinity of Woodward Lane throughout the project. Access to local properties will be maintained whenever possible; however, minor delays may occur during certain phases of construction. Please plan for potential delays in nearby areas and allow extra time to get to your destination.

Construction is expected to be completed by Fall 2028.
