RMWB Council approves land transfer for Conklin housing

At its April 14 meeting, RMWB Council approved the transfer of seven residential lots to the Conklin Resource Development Advisory Committee (CRDAC) for a nominal fee of $1. This decision supports an ongoing partnership to help address housing needs in the community.

The lots, located on Wapos Lane, Poplar Drive and Pine Lane, will be transferred once a formal agreement is finalized.

The municipality and the CRDAC work collaboratively with industry and other partners to address housing challenges in Conklin, which is a shared priority for both organizations.

CRDAC has served the Conklin community for more than 17 years and is the primary organization leading social and affordable housing in the hamlet. Securing access to land is a critical step in advancing these projects, as many government and industry programs require clear land control and demonstrated municipal support.

"Thank you to my Council colleagues for supporting this step in partnership with the CRDAC, as we look forward to more and better housing making a real difference in Conklin and those that are depending on us to focus on what matters most."
