The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo has hired Kichton Construction LP to remove material from the Saline Creek plateau and bring it to the bottom of the hill where it will then be piled and used for construction of multiple flood mitigation projects.
The construction zone, including any trails within the construction zone, will be closed to the public during construction.
These closures are required to:
- protect public safety;
- allow crews and equipment to work safely;
- complete the work as efficiently as possible.
Access to nearby homes and properties will remain available throughout construction.
Residents may notice:
- trail closures and detours;
- construction noise during daytime hours;
- dust and vibration near active work areas;
- heavy equipment and construction vehicles operating in the area;
- increased truck traffic on Saline Creek Parkway and Draper Road. Construction traffic will not be travelling through Waterways.
Construction crews will work to reduce impacts to the public whenever possible.
Please stay away from active construction sites. For your safety and the safety of construction crews:
- stay outside the construction zone;
- obey all posted signs and detours;
- keep away from heavy equipment and construction vehicles.
Emergency access will remain available at all times.
