Share your input on rural snow plowing
Rural residents are invited to share feedback
The development of a new Rural Snow and Ice Control Policy is underway to clearly define snowplowing priorities and service levels to help ensure a consistent approach in rural communities throughout the region. Feedback from rural residents will be collected until Sept. 21 to inform and shape the new policy.
While snowplowing happens regularly on all Municipal roads, Council directed Administration to establish a new policy at the May 19 meeting as there is a Snow and Ice Control Policy in place for Fort McMurray, but not for the rural communities
Policy options along with service level recommendations and engagement findings are expected to be presented to Council for consideration this upcoming fall ahead of winter.
