Motorists are reminded to drive to conditions and follow all posted signage
Starting on Tuesday, April 7, the load limits on municipal gravel roads are being lowered to 75 per cent of the Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW).
Load limits will remain in place until gravel roads are fully thawed and dried.
Gravel roads with load limits
The load limit applies to the following roads:
- West Road, Conklin
- Stoney Mountain Crossover, Stoney Mountain Road
- Tower Road, Fort McMurray

In addition to load limits, there may be other safety measures in place on gravel roads due to seasonal conditions, such as reduced axle weights.
For everyone’s safety and to preserve the lifespan of gravel roads, motorists are reminded to follow all posted signage and drive to conditions.
