Subzones 3 and 4 active March 2 – 6 for snow removal

Regular WMZ schedule and parking restrictions resume Monday

Subzones 3 and 4 are active for snow removal from March 2 to March 6, with winter maintenance returning to its regular schedule and on-street parking restrictions in effect.

Subzones 1 and 2 are expected to be active from March 9 to March 13.

Snow removal involves loading snow into trucks and hauling it to a snow disposal site. It takes more time and resources than snow plowing and typically happens only once or twice per winter season.

Thank you to crews and residents for supporting the extreme weather response

Thank you to crews for their hard work accelerating the plowing of all WMZ streets in response to heavy snowfall. The snowplowing operation started on Feb. 20 and is expected to be completed today.

A big thank you as well to residents for your cooperation with new parking restrictions, which made it possible for crews to carry out the extreme weather response.

Watch for temporary no-parking signs this weekend

Watch for temporary “no parking” signs this weekend if you live on a street not included in the WMZ program (Primary, Secondary or Tertiary Route). If you are not sure, use the Find Your Zone tool at rmwb.ca/wmz.

Crews are expected to be conducting snow removal this weekend in Timberlea (and other areas as needed), on Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Routes.

Temporary no parking signs will be placed in locations 24 hours in advance of planned snow removal. After the signs have been removed, you may park your vehicle back on the street.

Help keep your street accessible
  • Remove empty garbage and recycling bins from the street after collection.
  • Clear your driveway and sidewalks next to your home within 48 hours of a snowfall.
  • Shovel snow onto your yard or greenspace between driveways. Never back onto the street or around fire hydrants.
  • Be mindful when parking to not block street access.
