Syncrude Athletic Park Playground Replacement-Construction Project
Introduction:
The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is replacing the playground at Syncrude Athletic Park, in Timberlea during the summer of 2026.
The project includes removing the existing playground and rubber surfacing, installing new accessible and inclusive playground equipment and surfacing, improving drainage, and restoring the playground area after construction.
Construction is expected to start June 29th, 2026, and be completed in August 2026.
Work will take place within the existing playground and surrounding areas.
For everyone's safety, the playground will be closed during construction and will reopen once all work is complete, and the site has been inspected.

This project will provide new accessible and inclusive playground equipment for community members. The project will also improve drainage and the overall condition of the playground area.
The public are encouraged to use St. Martha/Christina Gordon or Dickinsfield school playgrounds during construction.
