Wide load on Fort Chipewyan Winter Road this Friday

A wide load of two modular homes is heading north on the Fort Chipewyan Winter Road on Friday morning, Feb. 13.

The road will be closed to southbound traffic from midnight to 10 a.m., and northbound drivers should also expect delays during this time.

The winter road is currently at its maximum weight limit of 45,000 kg.

The La Loche Winter Trail remains at its maximum load limit of 27,500 kg.

Important reminders

• Stay on the right-hand side of the road, especially on hills.
• All heavy vehicles, like fuel trucks and semi-trailers, require a permit to use the winter road. Please submit permit applications as soon as possible to prevent any delays.
