Subzones 3 and 4 are active for snow removal from March 2 to March 6, with winter maintenance returning to its regular schedule and on-street parking restrictions in effect.
Subzones 1 and 2 are expected to be active from March 9 to March 13.
In response to heavy snowfall and extreme winter conditions, additional plowing of Winter Maintenance Zone (WMZ) streets will begin Feb. 20 and continue everyday until all streets are complete. The regular WMZ schedule will be suspended during this time and new parking restrictions put into effect.
Subzones 3 and 4 will be active from Feb. 16-20 for snow plowing, with on-street parking restrictions in effect 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Snow removal will also continue next week in Subzones 1 and 2 where temporary no parking signs are posted.
Subzones 1 and 2 will be active from Feb. 9-13 for snow removal operations, with on-street parking restrictions in effect 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Vehicles left in active subzones or where temporary no parking signs are posted are subject to a $120 Notice of Violation plus towing fees.
Crews are getting closer to completing snow removal at least once this winter on all streets in the Winter Maintenance Zone (WMZ) program. This does not mean that work is finished, as snow removal operations continue in all subzones, prioritizing streets in most need of maintenance if access is available.
Subzones 3 and 4 will be active from Feb. 2-6 for snow removal operations, with on-street parking restrictions in effect 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
As winter maintenance continues, keeping streets clear of vehicles remains one of the most effective ways to support efficient snow removal. Vehicles left in active subzones or where temporary no parking signs are placed are subject to a $120 Notice of Violation plus towing fees.
Crews are continuing snow removal operations and getting closer to completing all streets in Fort McMurray.
Subzones 1 and 2 will be active from Jan.26-30 for snow removal operations, with on-street parking restrictions in effect 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Subzones 3 and 4 will be active Feb. 2-6.
Following parking restrictions helps speed up winter maintenance. When a subzone is active, all vehicles must be off the street on your scheduled maintenance day from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Do not park back on the street before 6 p.m., even if work appears complete, as crews may need to return.
