Emergency Management
Managing emergencies is all about planning for them in advance. Once a year, a review of the Regional Emergency Management Plan (REMP) and the Community Emergency Management Plans (CEMPs) is done to ensure they reflect all the needs of our region.
Regional Emergency Management Plan (REMP)
The REMP provides a framework to prepare for likely events. Based on and Hazard, Risk and Vulnerabilities Analysis (HRVA), the REMP is a tool to support emergency services and municipal responders.
The REMP is not designed to address all hazards, risks and community vulnerabilities. It is adaptable to different emergency events and flexible to meet the needs of a municipality with regional communities.
Community Emergency Management Plans (CEMP)
Every community in the region has a CEMP. A CEMP is a complimentary plan to the REMP. It contains information about a community that would be useful to emergency officials. These plans consider the unique nature, needs and challenges of each community.
