Ride the right way
Learn the Transit Code and follow the eight key principles above to ride the right way.
RMWB Transit continually reviews and updates its policies and guidelines to ensure a safe and respectful experience for passengers and drivers alike.
See something? Say something! Report inappropriate behaviour or actions
- If you see inappropriate behaviour while on board – report it. If you see something, say something to your driver.
- Can’t speak to the driver or want to report a non-emergency incident? Call Pulse at 780-743-7000 and give the date, time and route along with details of the incident.
- It's on camera – Transit can access video records of many incidents.
Getting on and off the bus
- Form an orderly line when boarding a bus.
- While waiting to board, let passengers exit first.
- Make sure you pay your fare!
- Leave space for everyone; move to the rear of the bus when boarding.
- Be courteous and allow your driver to concentrate on operating the bus. Please refrain from moving around in the bus while in motion and avoid talking to the driver when in motion.
- Hold on to the handrails when standing inside a transit vehicle.
- Stand clear of doorways while on the bus – don’t block the flow!
- Exit from the rear door and allow those with mobility needs to exit first.
Passenger courtesy
- Talk softly and quietly, both in person and on the phone.
- Use headphones when listening to music.
- Avoid wearing strongly scented perfumes or colognes.
Seat etiquette
- Leave space for others – do not block seats or aisles with your bags or belongings.
- The front seats are reserved for the elderly, those who are pregnant or have young children, or those with mobility needs. If the bus is crowded, please be kind and offer your seat to those who need one.
- Ride quietly and respect the privacy and rights of other passengers.
- Remove your backpack while on the bus and hold it in front of you to avoid accidently bumping into other passengers as you pass.
- Do not take up seats with backpacks, bags, or personal belongings, and keep aisles free of items.
- Do not lie down or spread out on seats or benches provided for passengers waiting to board.
The following behaviour will not be tolerated on board or while waiting for your bus:
- Behaviour that threatens the safety of others or the safe operation of transit buses.
- Vandalizing or creating graffiti on any transit property - which includes buses and terminals or any other items on Transit property.
