Residents are invited to pick up printed flyers with essential election information at Jubilee Centre (9909 Franklin Ave.) during business hours. The flyers are also available at key locations and local businesses around Fort McMurray.
These election flyers include details on voter eligibility and ID requirements, dates and locations for voting in advance and on election day, and more.
Skip the crowds on Election Day and take advantage of advance voting at locations throughout the region, starting on Oct. 3.
During advance voting, you can vote at any voting station. On Election Day (Oct. 20), you will need to cast your ballot at a voting station within your ward.
It’s time to vote, RMWB! Advance voting starts Oct. 3, and Election Day is Oct. 20.
Local government doesn’t run itself — your vote helps shape how your community develops.
It also sets priorities for the services that keep it running.
This includes parks, public transit, recreation programs, animal and bylaw services, waste collection, water, and police and fire services.
Mark your calendar and look at your choices. Be ready to vote in October!
The RWMB is featuring Council candidate profiles on its election webpage for the first time, giving voters a chance to learn more about their choices in the municipal election.
Videos recorded by Council candidates in the RMWB studio – as well as candidate-submitted profile statements – have been published on the Who’s Running webpage.
Many multi-unit buildings in the region are displaying unit addresses that are not registered with the RMWB. A registered address ensures emergency services like police, fire and ambulance can locate your business quickly when it matters most.
Council approved a new Roads and Transportation Bylaw (No. 25/020) at last night’s meeting. The new bylaw is aligned with Provincial legislation and will enhance community safety by providing clarity on traffic laws, and improving compliance, education, and enforcement tools.
Bylaw Services are now using drones to help enforce off-highway vehicle (OHV) laws. This has improved their ability to safely pursue riders illegally operating an OHV within Fort McMurray and lay charges. OHV laws are in place for the safety of everyone and the use of drones will help improve compliance with laws and enhance community safety.
The Wood Buffalo RCMP have announced their 2025–2026 Annual Policing Priorities, developed using input from residents, frontline officers, and regional crime data. These priorities will guide enforcement and prevention strategies over the next year.
