Council candidate profiles now available on Municipal website

The RWMB is featuring Council candidate profiles on its election webpage for the first time, giving voters a chance to learn more about their choices in the municipal election.

Videos recorded by Council candidates in the RMWB studio – as well as candidate-submitted profile statements – have been published on the Who’s Running webpage.

Submitting profile information was voluntary and not all candidates participated. The deadline for Council candidates to submit profile information has now passed.

School trustee candidates can be found on the official List of Candidates.

Why is the RMWB publishing candidate profiles for this election?

Feedback collected during the 2024 Municipal Voter Experience engagement found that residents wanted more information about their choices in a municipal election. 

Responding to this feedback, the Municipality created a process where all candidates for RMWB Council were offered the opportunity to submit a 150-word profile statement and a photo, as well as record a 1-minute video.

Candidates also submitted contact information and social media links for publication, as in past elections.
