Help plan and shape the 2028 Alberta Summer Games

(Fort McMurray, AB – June 8, 2026) – The 2028 Alberta Summer Games are being held in Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo and we’re seeking passionate and dedicated community members to help plan and lead this major provincial event by serving on the Games' Board of Directors.
A legacy of sport and community
The Alberta Summer Games will take place from July 20–23, 2028, bringing together athletes, coaches, officials, families, and visitors from across the province.
This event has been a cornerstone of amateur sport in Alberta for more than 50 years, providing athletes aged 11 to 16 with the opportunity to compete at a provincial level.
Competitors will take part in several sports, including mountain biking, baseball, rugby, swimming, beach volleyball, and more!

Recruitment is now underway for the 2028 Alberta Summer Games Board positions. The Chairperson will be appointed in July, and remaining Board positions are expected to be filled by the end of August.

Chairperson – will be selected first and requested to attend the 2026 Alberta Summer Games – July 16 - 19, 2026, in Strathcona County

- Director of Culture, Ceremonies and Protocol

- Director of Media and Communications
- Director of Tourism and Visitors Experience
- Director of Safety and Security
- Director of Information and Technology and Communications
- Director of Sport

- Director of Volunteer Workforce
